Descriptions of Our Programs:

Teacher Recognition

  • Teacher Supplies Gift Cards - often your teachers spend their own money for their classroom needs.  At the beginning of each school year we have provided teachers with $50.00 gift cards to offset some of that spending.

  • Teacher Appreciation Day - One day each year we thank our teachers and staff for all of their hard work.  We have lunch brought in and give each teacher a small token of our appreciation.

Plays & Presentations

  • Plays - In the past during the Fall, MWCC would bring a play production to our school for all the students.

  • Presentations - In the past during the school year, exciting & fun program(s) would come to the school.

Field Trips/Class Parties

  • Field Trips - Every class each year goes on field trips.  Over 50% of our budget goes there.  Year after year, the cost of field trips is rising.

  • End of Year Class Parties - Each class is given money to have an end of the year party to celebrate.  Each class decides how they spend the money. (i.e. pizza party, ice cream social)

Family Events

  • Family Fun Night - This night the PTO gives back to families.  We play BINGO, have a snack table, great door prizes and raffles.  Entrance to play is free and every child leaves with a prize!

  • Aloha - Just before summer ends, the PTO says Aloha to the new and returning students.  Fun field games are played and students can meet their new teacher and classmates.

Family Appreciation

  • Reindeer Camp - Holidays can be a hectic time.  During December, for a small fee, parents are welcomed to drop off their children for the day.  The children are treated to a visit from Santa, Story Time, Movie Time, crafts and of course, lunch.

School Help

  • Fish Tank in Office - Each time your children visit the office, they are first greeted by our colorful fish tank.  You can also see it through the glass window in the hallway.  The PTO funds the maintenance of the fish tank for your child's enjoyment!

  • Copy Paper - The PTO purchases paper to help defray the cost of our memos and purchase special paper (i.e. colored paper).

PTO Meeting Needs

  • PTO Supplies - The PTO spends this on meeting supplies, maintenance of the PTO bulletin board, postage, office supplies and other incidentals.

  • Babysitting - Each PTO meeting we offer babysitting for parents.  We pay each babysitter $15.00 per meeting.  Each meeting requires a minimum of 2 babysitters.

Playground

  • Maintenance - The playground maintenance fund provides for upkeep of the playground (fix equipment, yearly mulching).

  • Equipment - -This category has not yet been established, but the PTO would like to for the 2008-2009 school year.  In 2005 we installed a new playground for our 1st-3rd graders.  Each year, the PTO would like to add additional equipment for your child's enjoyment!
