Mission
Statement
The
Winchendon Public Schools Professional Development mission is to
facilitate meaningful professional growth for all staff who have direct
contact with students. The
primary purpose is to ensure opportunities for certified professional
teaching staff, paraprofessionals and administrators to acquire
Professional Development Points (PDP’s) for “recertification” and
for noncertified staff opportunities to improve themselves in their
relationship and their contact with students, parents and fellow staff.
Goals
- To involve the School
Committee, the administration and the teachers in the broad
frameworks of professional development to improve the quality of
education
- To offer Professional
Development Point (PDP) acquisition opportunities at no cost to
certified professional staff
- To be proactive in the
coordination, facilitation, and participation of using our own
professional staff talent as presenter
- To coordinate
professional development opportunities and challenges with other
school districts
- To develop professional
development activities aligned with School Improvement Plans as
well as the District Improvement Plan
